At work

A qualified chartered accountant (ACA), Helen’s role within Coolair extends far beyond what would normally be expected of an FD. Accountancy is where she started, initially with a small firm in Manchester where Coolair was a client. A relationship formed and it wasn’t long before she got the call to join Coolair. During the following 18 years she’s been involved with everything from bookkeeping and corporate taxation to staff development and conference organisation – a true all rounder!

At play

The best era for popular music was, of course, the ‘80s – this is Helen’s view, especially when it comes in the form of Soft Cell’s Marc Almond. As a child she longed to be an astronaut but became rather more grounded in her student days, collecting fossils in her spare time. These days, as a fashion lover, she’s more focused on collecting shoes although, paradoxically, her bucket list is empty – “I have everything I need”! Dream dinner guests include “a young Clint Eastwood”, with homemade ravioli on the menu.
