A new landmark office development in Gloucester has sought the aid of Coolair Equipment to bring the latest energy efficient heating and cooling technology.
Our Cannock office has secured the contract worth £300,000 to install an air conditioning system with heat recovery that will simultaneously heat and cool different areas of the building, forming the new apex of Gloucester Business Park at Brockworth.
The commission from M & E building services contractor, SPIE UK, is aimed at creating a three-storey building that is both visually exciting and technologically advanced, with a plaza entrance and asymmetric fenestration and the highest standards of comfort for its occupants.
Coolair will equip the 75,000sqft premises with a new Hitachi IVX variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system combined with Daikin DX (direct expansion) condensers to serve the buildings air handling units (AHUs).
The VRF systems will deliver exactly the right amount of refrigerant to ceiling void ducted fan coil units (FCUs) which in turn will diffuse air at the required temperature to achieve a comfortable climate in each room all year round.
The quiet running and energy efficient system is specially designed to use the rejected heat from cooling sun-facing spaces to heat non-sun-facing areas simultaneously. It also has the added advantages of reducing the building’s carbon emissions and keeping operating costs low.
Ben Snookes, Coolair project engineer, said “we are delighted to have been appointed by SPIE UK with whom we have developed a highly successful relationship, to bring the latest comfort cooling technology to such an exciting new office landmark”.
Work on this installation will start in November 2019 with completion scheduled for early 2020.
